Highlights

School of Computer Science at Taylor’s University invites our esteemed academic partners to the International Postgraduate Computer Science Research Symposium (IPCRS), a platform for postgraduate research students to showcase their research work to a diverse audience, including both academic and industry professionals. The 2024 symposium will be held on the 13th and 14th of November in a hybrid format at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus and online, offering flexibility for all participants.
Highlights of this year’s symposium include:

  • Invited keynote talks by eminent academic and industry experts in cybersecurity, AI, and data science.
  • Presentations (oral and poster sessions) by postgraduate researchers on the latest innovations and findings.

Dr. Yulia Cherdantseva: I am a Reader at the School of Computer Science & Informatics at Cardiff University. I led the “Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems Cyber Security Lifecycle (SCADA-CSL)” project, funded by Airbus Endeavr Wales, where I developed a SCADA Cyber Security, Safety, and Risk (CSSR) graphical extension for BPMN 2.0 and a SCADA system dependency model. In 2020-2021, I led a project funded by NCSC and RISCS on cybersecurity decision-making by SMEs. I was awarded an EPSRC grant in 2021 to develop a framework for cybersecurity playbooks enhancing CNI resilience. I also lead cyber skills education and am passionate about equality and diversity in cybersecurity.

Dr. Fathi Amsaad (Senior Member, IEEE) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, with a joint appointment in Biomedical, Industrial, and Human Factors Engineering at Wright State University, Dayton, OH. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering, specializing in Computer Science and Engineering, from the University of Toledo in 2017. Dr. Amsaad directs the SMART Cybersecurity Research Lab at Joshi Research Center. His research focuses on Cyber and Physical System Security, specializing in Hardware-Oriented Security, including cryptographic hardware, counterfeit detection, secure SoC design, and side-channel attack countermeasures.

Georg is the Co-Founder and Chair of Juwai-IQI, the largest proptech group in South East Asia with more than 30,000 sales agents. He is non-executive Chair of Spacetalk (ASX:SPA), Director of Centrepoint Alliance (ASX:CAF), the Prop Tech Group (ASX:PTG) and BUTN (ASX:BTN). He is Senior Advisor of brioHR.com, South East Asia’s fastest growing HR platform and madeComfy.com, one of the most innovative short term and holiday rental platforms. Georg was previously Executive Chair of iCarAsia, the number 1 online automotive marketplace for SE Asia (carlist.my, one2car.com, mobil123.com) until its acquisition by carsome.com. He was also Managing Director / CEO of the iProperty Group until its sale to REA Group in the biggest online takeover in SE Asia at that point in time. He was non-executive Director of Mitula Group, Managing Director / CEO of LJ Hooker Group and Group CFO at REA Group. Georg also worked for KPMG, Deutsche Bank and McKinsey&Company.

Dr. Guandong Xu is a Professor at UTS specializing in data mining, machine learning, and social computing. He leads research centers focused on smart technology and data science. With over 240 published papers and numerous awards, he is recognized for his contributions to data science and analytics. Dr. Xu also holds leadership roles in major academic journals and conferences. He is a Fellow of both the IET (UK) and the ACS (Australia).
